Just gotta find another rendition of this remarkable cover that Jerry does of Otis Readings,"Ciggarettes and Coffee."Wondering if there`s a live version floating around anywhere?I know he recorded it around the time he recorded,"When Smoke Gets in Your Eyes,"so does anyone know of one?

"Cigarettes And Coffee" was recorded for the "Smoke" soundtrack along with "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes". Grateful Dead Lyric And Song Finder list the soundtrack as the only recording. There doesn't seem to be any live performance of this tune.

Smoke was written by the composer Jerry was named after, Jerome Kern for those scoring at home.

You may have seen this already, but all this talk of cigarettes and smoke put me in mind of it.

I'm allowed to say this because my wife and I both have our A listers -

ever see that ( i think it was Rolling Stone, might have been a tribute issue after Jerry died ) blurb with Ashley Judd talking about Jerry ( she was in the video of that song) ?

She looked freakin HOT!

that is all : )

I believe those were the last two songs recorded by JG . There is no record in Garcia Base that they played either one live . On You Tube an interesting vid. of Smoke Gets in your Eyes w/JG . BTW , Smoke is s great movie - I love the Christmas Eve story .

Ashley Judd looked so good back in 1995, still looks good today, but as a fresh faced 25 year old she was nummy!

I think the last thing he recorded was a version of Blue Yodel #9. Recorded for a tribute to Jimmie Rodgers album that B. Dylan was putting together. Not 100% sure whether that recording has seen the light of day, but I think it is out there somewhere.
